The following consumer products were recalled between May 3rd – May 17th due to toxicological and/or labelling violations in the United States, Canada or Europe:

The products “Orient brushes” and “Fill Your Own Panda Play Stainless Steel Food Containers” were recalled due to the presence of lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is toxic to children at low exposure levels and has been shown to have the potential to cause intellectual and behavioural deficits in children.

Europe
The toys “Modern Girl, Pretty Girls”, “Soft Racer”, “Nail Art Beds Set”, “Design Nails Nail Art. Beautiful Nails of Charming Ladies”, “Gelpens Glitter”, and “Oval Star” were withdrawn from the market and/or recalled from end users due to the presence of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and/or di-“isobutyl” phthalate (DIBP). According to the REACH Regulations, the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.

The toy “Beauty Dollys” was withdrawn from the market due to the presence of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) as well as azo dyes. According to the REACH Regulations, the phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.

The product, earrings and necklace (name unknown), was rejected at the border for import due to the presence of cadmium in excess of the limit outlined in the REACH regulations.
